The World Premiere of 1M1W at the 2010 Boulder International Fringe Festival!

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to see the world premiere of 1M1W at the 2010 Boulder International Fringe Festival! We won the Fringe Encore award for the second year in a row, and we couldn't have done it without all of your support!

See Your Name in Lights!

For the past three years, we have held an open call to playwrights from across the country. Submit a script to 5TH CIRCLE, and you may be treated to a full production of your work during the 2011 Boulder International Fringe Festival. Each year, we run a competition to find the best unpublished and currently unproduced script around. Should your script win, it will be produced as a full production during the annual Boulder International Fringe Festival!

Benefits of having your show produced include the following:

We are currently accepting one-act plays (no more than 50 minutes, with minimal cast and set requirements) for production next year. If you, or someone you know, would like to have your play produced by a professional theatre troupe, please send a submission to info@5thcircletheatre.org. The contest deadline is October 15, 2010, so please get cracking!

5TH CIRCLE THEATRE COMPANY produces and supports theatre and the performing arts.

5TH CIRCLE was formed when a group of friends from New Orleans decided to move to Boulder and focus on the writing and production of original works of theatre. Monthly playreadings with local playwrights and a full production in the summer of 2005 helped establish 5TH CIRCLE as a growing voice in the Boulder scene.

Recently, 5TH CIRCLE has expanded its focus to include all aspects of performing arts. To help bring theatre to the next generation of playgoers, an adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello for high school students is currently in the works for production. We have participated in film festivals with local directors and have worked with amateur dancers so they can perfect their craft. And we continue to hold community playreadings to bring more original theatrical works into the field.

In the future, 5TH CIRCLE will continue its dedication to the creation of all aspects of performing arts. With two projects in pre-production and at least five in the beginning stages, 5TH CIRCLE will remain a strong presence in Colorado and the world.
